The Bromley by Bow Centre: An exciting addition to Seetec’s Supply Chain
Seetec has engaged BBB to support our delivery of our NEET IAG contract in London as an end to end provider. As a pioneering registered charity located in the heart of one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in East London, the Bromley by Bow Centre in Tower Hamlets is an exciting addition to Seetec’s Supply Chain. Built around the first Healthy Living Centre in the UK the Centre incorporates a GP Surgery, an arts centre, a church, a childcare nursery and a café, amidst a three acre park. The Centre has gained a national and international reputation for its innovative regeneration work in the community.
Learners referred to BBB through the NEET IAG contract are guaranteed in depth support. An initial one to one meeting establishes goals and the route to achieve them, sets actions and timescales and the level of support needed to achieve a positive outcome. Individuals are then supported by the Apprenticeship team or the employment team to achieve their outcomes. Throughout the process, learners have access to continual wrap around support services which lie at the core of BBB’s delivery. BBB teams maintain regular contact with learners even after they secure progressions; Information, Advice and Guidance arms learners with the information they need to progress into their chosen vocations; Health, Support and Wellbeing delivered through their Health Trainers and Weight Management programmes are delivered by staff at BBB who work alongside their onsite GPs to help local residents improve their diet, become more physically active, stop smoking and lose weight.
For learners on programme, this integrated programme of advice and practical support combines to build the life chances of residents and ensures that both employability and healthy living needs support access to sustainable employment and fulfilled lives. For Seetec the collaborative approach to ensuring that progressions are sustainable offers us the chance to meet our outcome and progression targets for this challenging contract.
