Seetec supports MHAW 2020

At Seetec we understand that mental health problems can affect anyone, at any time.

That’s why as a business we do all we can to ensure our staff, customers and partners mental health and wellbeing needs are acknowledged, discussed and supported.

It’s important to believe that mental health is everyone’s business, and that’s why we’ll be supporting this years’ Mental Health Awareness Week, an annual event hosted by The Mental Health Foundation.

This years’ theme is ‘kindness’ due to its ability to strengthen relationships, develop community and deepen solidarity. At a challenging time when we are all experiencing a sense of isolation and disconnect in varying degrees, kindness – both giving and receiving – can uplift our spirits, boost our mood, and help us feel connected.

Kindness is often defined as an act motivated by a genuine desire to make a positive difference. So it might not come as a surprise that official research shows kindness and our mental health are deeply connected.

“The research shows that kindness is an antidote to isolation and creates a sense of belonging. It helps reduce stress, brings a fresh perspective and deepens friendships. Kindness to ourselves can prevent shame from corroding our sense of identity and help boost our self-esteem. Kindness can even improve feelings of confidence and optimism.”
