From developing existing staff to training new employees, we’re partnered with The BOC Group to develop a range of apprenticeship options to better support their workforce.

Apprenticeships are key to the development of lifelong skills that can be used in both a personal and professional context. Recognising this, The BOC Group are encouraging their employees to embark on further training to help achieve their career aspirations and goals.

Their current success stories include Manchester born Lauren Way, who is employed as a Communications and Compliance Specialist at BOC. Lauren saw her apprenticeship as an opportunity to develop her career and progress towards her goal of becoming a project manager.

Whilst undertaking her level 4 qualification in project management, Lauren developed many new skills she believes will set her apart from others who don’t have this impressive qualification.

Another accomplished apprentice, Lauren De Jager, now works as part of the reception team at BOC.

After leaving college, Lauren chose to undertake a level 2 course in business administration instead of going to university. And since completing the qualification, Lauren has gone on to secure full time employment as a member of the BOC team.

Louise Martyn, currently a Commercial Manager at BOC, was referred to us by her line manager to help her excel further in the company. Now undertaking a level 4 qualification in associate project management, Louise quickly found the apprenticeship offered her the chance to learn and develop completely new skills.

Connor Lakey, a Technical Operations Trainee at BOC, also took the apprenticeship route.

After finishing school, Connor chose to undertake an NVQ level 3 in advanced engineering maintenance before progressing to an NVQ level 4 in engineering.

Connor aspires to be a Project Engineer in the near future, and saw an apprenticeship as the best way to gain experience in the working world and showcase his abilities to employers.

Helen Slater, Head of Talent at BOC said: “It’s exciting to see the successes so far and to watch the progress that all of our apprentices are making. The enthusiasm for learning that they all share is inspiring, and I know the skills learnt will set them in good stead to excel, not only within their own careers, but within the business too.”
