Seetec Group KSS CRC Receives European Award
The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Community Rehabilitation Company (KSS CRC) has been named “one of the best” in the European awards for their work in helping to prevent reoffending through reintegration.
The Confederation of European Probation (CEP), a members organisation for probation services, awarded KSS CRC the “runner up” award for social inclusion on 23 October at an awards ceremony in Dublin.
The awards where originally launched in 2016, and celebrates the outstanding contributions to probation services across 38 different countries.
The panel of judges commended KSS CRC for employing ex-offenders in their Kent, Surrey and Sussex division to work with its toughest case, which has so far halved the total number of people breaking the rules of their probation.
The ex-offenders employed by KSS CRC join as case support workers, and share their experience of turning away from a life of crime with individuals on probation to encourage them to do the same. They also help to minimise the risk of reoffending by helping the individual find a job, a place to live and access to services.
KSS CRC’s Chief Executive Suki Binning said: “We are thrilled to have won European recognition for employing people with convictions in the service. The amazing outcomes by our case support workers team show the immense and valuable contribution it is making to minimise further offending.”
KSS CRC delivers case management and specific initiatives to reduce reoffending for low and medium risk offenders in the region. It also delivers probation services in Wales; Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset; and Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.
