Seetec Ireland CEO to Sleep Out for Shine A Light Homeless Charity

Mouna sleeping rough in Dublin in 2017

Seetec Ireland’s Chief Executive Mouna Prenty will be one of the 100 business leaders who will take part in the ‘Shine A Light Night Business Leaders Sleep out’ on Friday 12th October 2018.

Mouna will be sleeping rough overnight in Dublin to raise funds and stand in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness in the country today.

Mouna participated in the sleep out last year and fully embraced the experience, saying “I wanted to experience what it felt like and that I did.  I felt all sorts of emotions throughout the night. Firstly, I was drenched but more importantly I was overwhelmed with the sadness that for too many, this is a daily experience.  I left that morning at 6.00am, grateful that I had a bed to go to.  On my way to my car to get home, I stopped at a convenience store to get a hot drink.  I was turned away from the store because I believe that I appeared homeless to the shop assistant after a very wet night and sleeping bag in hand that he wasn’t willing to serve me”.

Despite her wet and cold night last year, Mouna is determined to raise her target of €5,000 this year.  If you would like to contribute even if it is the price of a cup of coffee, please donate here.

Focus Ireland is working to end homelessness. With 8,160 people in Ireland currently homeless, the charity believes that everyone has the right to a place to call home.
