Welcome to Work Participants Graduate

Participants at Welcome to work graduation

Two groups of participants who have attended the Welcome to Work programme in Galway and Castlebar have successfully graduated.

Welcome to Work is a 13-week programme that helps people who have moved to Ireland and need additional support to progress into work or further education.

Participants improved their spoken English and are now confident speaking in formal situations such as at an interview.  They also learnt how to create a professional CV and where to look online for jobs and training opportunities. As part of the course, the groups also visited Irish heritage sites and museums to gain an understanding of the country's culture, history and traditions.

Ginta who recently graduated from the programme said: “I really enjoyed talking with classmates, reading books, meeting new people, I have improved my English and have gained confidence in my own ability - I am not afraid anymore to answer the phone or to set appointments such as seeing the doctor”
