Boost Your Online Presence with Digital Skills Apprenticeship Funding

Young person working in digital skills

The ApprenticeshipsNI programme can help drive digital marketing, social media and other online initiatives at no extra cost to employers.

Seetec is urging businesses in Northern Ireland to consider apprenticeships in digital skills to help best prepare their businesses for the future.

As 99% of SMEs (small-to-medium enterprises) and charities are now online, according to the UK Business and Charity Digital Index 2018, it is vital that companies focus on their online presence.

For example, two-thirds of SMEs currently save a full day’s work a week through online initiatives (including managing information, communications, transactions, etc.) and SMEs which use analytics to understand their customers are 41% more likely to have increasing turnover.

What does Seetec offer?

Seetec operates across Northern Ireland working with employers to recruit the best talent for their organisation as part of the government-backed ApprenticeshipsNI programme, which offers funded recruitment and training of apprentices between the ages of 16 and 24, whether an employer wishes to take on a new apprentice or train an existing employee who is looking to upskill.

The training for the Digital Marketing and Social Media course cover key topics such as:

  • Metrics and analytics, mobile responsive marketing, ecommerce solutions, social media and social networking, and creating and optimising content for web.

  • Web design: content management systems and website creation.
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): keyword optimisation, analytics and data reporting.

As well as this, there is a £500 incentive for employers once the participant completes training, meaning it is one of the most cost-effective ways for a business to add value to its workforce.

The timeframe for recruitment is usually between four and ten weeks and training can take 1 to 2 years depending on the programme.
