A team of Local Authority Representatives from
Sweden recently visited Seetec’s employment and training centre in
Romford. Their aim was to discuss and observe how we work with
customers to remove the barriers they face on their return to work,
with the view of improving their own programmes in Sweden. Our
Romford team also learnt about the differences between welfare to
work programmes in Sweden and the UK.
Jan Elvin, Centre Manager, Paul Johnson,
Business Development Manager and Alistair North, Performance
Quality Manager gave an introduction to Seetec, outlining the key
aims of the programmes being delivered at Romford and explained how
Seetec addressed the obstacles people face when returning to work
in the UK.
Paul chronicled the development of the Welfare
to Work programmes in the UK, the obstacles of returning to work
and interventions and innovations Seetec has implemented to address
them. It was a great opportunity to share knowledge with the
government advisers on what works and what improvements were needed
in both countries.
Visitor Yvonne Viksten stated that ‘The visit
was a great opportunity to understand your Welfare to Work
programmes and explore opportunities between our
organisations. The commitment and passion of the staff was
overwhelming. I am so impressed by the enthusiasm Seetec’s front
line teams have in working with clients and getting them back into
work. You are amazing. It has made me start to think about
where we can improve our programmes and make a step change in the
delivery of programmes in Sweden.”
