Seetec is set to further expand its West Midlands infrastructure
in order to deliver the Government’s new back to work programme
‘Flexible New Deal’ in Birmingham and Solihull due to start on the
5th October.
Seetec will be opening 5 brand new employment
and training centres in Aston, Kings Norton, Yardley, Central
Birmingham and Solihull for the October start. The centres will
employ approximately 200 local staff to deliver the service and
will offer the latest in IT equipment and job search
resources.
Flexible New Deal is the Government's new
initiative for individuals who have been claiming Jobseeker's
Allowance for over twelve months. It replaces the current New Deal
and Employment Zone programmes and provides jobseekers with a more
tailored and work focused approach to getting back into
employment.
Seetec will be working with Jobcentre Plus, local businesses and
a wide range of partner organisations in Birmingham and Solihull
from the private, public and voluntary sectors to deliver this new
programme. It will provide a range of tailored back to work support
including career planning, job search advice, skills training, work
experience opportunities and specialist services such as mentoring,
debt advice and confidence building.
It is estimated that more than 100,000
jobseekers across Birmingham and Solihull will be supported on
their journey from benefits back into work over the course of the 5
year contract period.
Seetec is already implementing the contract
and is currently working with delivery partners and employers to
ensure that jobseekers accessing the service in October have
opportunities at their fingertips to improve their skills and move
back into employment.
Seetec's Chief Executive Jeremy Nutter
commented "Seetec is delighted to have been awarded this contract
across Birmingham and Solihull. As a provider already
operating across the West Midlands we understand only too well the
challenges that jobseekers in Birmingham and Solihull face when
finding work particularly in the current economic climate. We are
committed to working with partners and employers in the area to
maximise opportunities for unemployed jobseekers and believe that
we can make a difference to their lives and that of their families
and local communities through this programme.”
Seetec has been delivering employment and
skills contracts across the UK for over 25 years and brings a
wealth of experience and a track record of high quality services to
this new contract in Birmingham and Solihull.
