Christmas came early when hundreds of jobseekers were able to bag themselves a job at The Liberty Shopping Centre, Romford, when Seetec and Jobcentre Plus organised a recent Jobs Fair.

Companies such as BHS, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Primark, River Island and Monsoon were all searching for Christmas staff.  With nearly 250 vacancies up for grabs ranging from full, part time and weekend work, candidates were able to take along their CV, meet retailers and practice their interview techniques.

Visitors to the event could also receive free employment and training advice from Seetec and find out about opportunities available to them through their back to work programmes.

Katie Goodman and Danielle Bosivino aged 16 from Collier Row, Romford, Essex commented "The job fair was a fantastic idea; it gave us the opportunity to approach a lot of retailers in a quick period of time. It was really worthwhile coming to the centre. We liked the fact that Debenhams interviewed us as it gave us some experience and helped us with our interview technique. After looking for part time work for 3 months and failing to find anything, we were pleased that both of us have been offered jobs today!"
