Mark had been a medical registrar for the NHS
for over 20 years, a period of ill health meant that he was unable
to return to the medical profession.
Mark claimed Incapacity benefit for
approximately a year and decided that he needed to find a new
industry that he could work in.
Mark visited a Seetec centre to discuss his
career options. Although Mark knew he wanted to return to work he
was unsure what direction to take.
Mark had an interest in computers and the
possibility of pursuing a career in the industry but wasn’t sure
what he needed to do to get started.
Mark spent time with his Seetec personal
advisor, who discussed the opportunities within computing. Seetec
encouraged and financed Mark to take his ECDL ( European Computer
Driving Licence) and A+ certificate, which Mark passed with flying
colours.
Mark has now gone on to set up a computer
consultancy business which he states has made him happier than he
had been in a very long time. Mark continues to pop into the Seetec
centre in Harlow to say hello and to help other clients with
computer applications.
