Mark Francois MP for Rayleigh and Shadow Minister for
Europe visited Seetec’s Head office on 15th January 2010
to meet with Jeremy Nutter - Chief Executive, Lesley Barry –
Finance Director and Alison Bunney – Business Development and
Marketing Director.
The last time Mark visited Seetec in 2001 the
business had under 200 employees and operated predominately in the
South East. Since then Seetec’s landscape has changed dramatically
over the last 9 years. The business now employs over 700 staff
across the country making Seetec one of if not the largest private
sector employer in the Rayleigh constituency.
Mark was interested to learn about how Seetec
operate locally and nationally supporting communities with a range
of employment and training programmes.
Having recently spent time at the Jobcentre
Plus office in Rayleigh Mark was keen to learn how Seetec work with
the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and Learning Skills
Council to find people sustainable employment and support
businesses up skill or re train employees.
Mark was interested to hear about Seetec views
on the Conservative Party’s plans for welfare reform and in
particular the proposals outlined in ‘Get Britain Working’. Mark
was also able to forward some of our more detailed questions around
the Conservatives proposed Work Programme in writing to Teresa May
the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
