Press Release
Leading employment and training provider
Seetec will be helping homeless people across Luton move back into
work after being awarded a new contract.
‘Employment Support for the Homeless’ is
funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Luton Borough Council
and will support 172 unemployed residents across Luton who are
either homeless and living in temporary accommodation, or are about
to be made homeless.
The programme will assist people in
identifying and tackling the often complex issues and personal
obstacles which have combined to cause them to lose their home, and
will provide an individually tailored package of vocational skills
training to build the skills they need to get back into work.
Along with a mix of activities such as work
placements and employment skills training, which reflect the
current labour market opportunities, this new programme will offer
information, advice and guidance and practical help in finding and
applying for suitable employment opportunities across the
Borough.
Seetec Regional Operations Director Andy
Emerson commented, ‘We are delighted to be supporting people in
overcoming their housing issues, improving vocational skills and
helping them secure rewarding and lasting employment’.
Employment Support for the Homeless is
available from Seetec’s Luton employment and training centre and
will run until December 2010. For further information call
