Seetec is Backing Young Britain by encouraging staff to consider
becoming an employee mentor to local young people who are seeking
employment.
Backing Young Britain is a new Government campaign calling on
organisations to create more opportunities for young people. Times
are tough for young people who are leaving school or full-time
education this summer. Yet they are the future of our workforce and
it’s vital that they get the help they need now, to find a job, get
training, or build their work skills and experience. We can and
should all play our part.
Seetec is already developing the very best in fresh new talent
and already:
- We work closely with Local Employment Partnerships across the
country.
- We have been a part of the Graduate Talent Pool since July
2009, offering paid nationwide internships to recent
graduates.
- We are actively bidding to broker jobs, work experience and
training under various elements of the Young Persons
Guarantee.
- In a new effort to show our commitment, our Chief Executive,
Directors, Managers and many employees have made a pledge
to mentor a school or university leaver
- Seetec has already signed up to the Skills Pledge, helping all
employees to reach Level 2 or equivalent with numeracy and
literacy.
Why don’t you pledge to become a volunteer mentor for a school
or university leaver, offer work experience or work trial places,
offer internships or apprenticeships, join a Local Employment
Partnership, or bid for funding from the Future Jobs Fund?
