Anthony had been a self-employed
Book-keeper but had experienced a period of unemployment due to
poor health. As a lone parent and caring for a friend who was also
experiencing ill health Anthony had many responsibilities.
Anthony decided he did not want to
continue to work as a book-keeper, instead Anthony expressed an
interest in cookery. Seetec supported Anthony to take free
certificates in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene.
Anthony passed his courses and his health
steadily improved. A part time vacancy in a local school kitchen
was just the opportunity that Anthony had been looking for.
Anthony attended the interview and was offered the job
immediately!
Anthony began work at the kitchen on a
permitted work basis and quickly become a valued member of the
team. Anthony was offered extra hours and as a result is due
to come off his benefits as soon as the extra hours begin.
Anthony loves his new job.
Although my time has now come to an end with Seetec, I would
like to return to visit, especially to see my adviser who I now
class as a very good friend, she has helped me tremendously and I
thank her from the bottom of my heart.”
