Claire was initially slightly sceptical about
joining the Opportunities London programme in Lewisham. “I had been
out of work almost 22 years raising my family, so felt that I
lacked both the skills and confidence to get back into full time
employment. My Employment Consultant helped me to gain confidence
through one-to-one advice and made me feel important and
worthy.”
Claire was advised by her Employment
Consultant at Seetec, Debra Reynolds, that there was a job
opportunity at a national security company as a Response Officer.
Although Claire did not have a S.I.A (Security Industry
Authority) licence an interview was arranged. Before the interview
Claire was helped with interview techniques as she had not attended
an interview for a very long time.
The interview went well and Claire was offered
a position as a Response Officer on the condition that she applied
for her licence. Seetec immediately agreed to fund the licence and
Claire will be starting her new position in the next couple of
weeks.
