What is New Start?
New Start is a unique back to work programme for people who
live in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.
It helps people who have been unemployed for over 12 months
and have a health condition
or disability.
It provides a work placement opportunity lasting between 13
and 50 weeks allowing you to gain the
confidence, skills and work experience to succeed when looking
for your own subsequent employment.
New Start offers:
- A waged work placement with a reputable organisation
- Practical help and advice for receiving in-work benefits in
addition to your wage
- A choice of exciting placement opportunities that meet your
needs
- A choice of part time or full time work
- Placements for up to 50 weeks
- Information, advice and guidance on searching for a job
- A work reference
In addition to your placement opportunity, Seetec can support
you with:
- A dedicated Personal Adviser who will support you throughout
the programme and once you find your own employment
- Access to training to develop your skills within the workplace
ie teamworking, communication and specific employment related
training ie computer skills
- Jobsearch help and support such as: CV and letter writing,
assistance with filling out application forms, telephone techniques
and interview preparation
- Advice on the financial benefits that maybe available to you
such as: The £40 per week Return to Work Credit (conditions
apply) and protected benefit in the event that the progrramme does
not lead to employment.
New Start is brought to you free by Seetec working in
partnership with Jobcentre Plus and the European Social Fund.
The service is specifically designed for people who have been
out of work for 12 months or more and are claiming a disability or
health related benefit and want to find work. It covers
the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk area.
