Entry to Employment (E2E)

 
Overview
 
The programme aims to help those young people who are not yet ready or able to directly enter Apprenticeship programmes, further education or employment. Young people are helped to prepare for progression to employment, employment with training, Apprenticeships and further education.

Eligibility

 

Living in England, aged 16­-24 and not taking part in any form of post 16 learning. Older young people can be admitted at the discretion of the local LSC, provided that the young person is not eligible for New Deal and their programme of learning can be completed by their 25th birthday.

Duration

 

E2E is not time-bound. However provision lasts on average 20 weeks within the range of 1 to 52 weeks.

 

 

 

Aims
 
The overall aims of E2E are for young people to:
 
  • Maximise learning and achievement
  • Develop knowledge, skills, understanding and personal qualities essential to employability and citizenship
  • Attain qualifications where appropriate
  • Be equipped for a variety of progression opportunities in employment, education          and training
 Key Objectives
 
For learners:
  • To improve motivation and confidence
  • To develop basic and/or key skills
  • To develop personal effectiveness
  • To acquire knowledge, skills and understanding through opportunities to sample different work and learning contexts
