Programme Centre

 

Overview

 
Designed to offer jobsearch provision for jobseekers from a range of backgrounds.  Programme centres provide assistance to participants who are in need of specific help in overcoming barriers to obtaining work.  The provision consists of packages of modules, individual support and supplementary advice, which reflect individual participants needs.
Eligibility
 
The support is generally available on a voluntary basis to those who are 25+ once JSA has been claimed for 6 months. There are some circumstances that participants may be mandated.
 
There are exceptions to the above, which allow certain special groups of learners to participate including 18-24 year olds.

Aims
 
The overall aim of Programme Centres is to help participants to acquire and/or update job search skills to enable them to get a job. As a result of taking part, participants should be able to demonstrate to potential employers that they are capable of undertaking and sustaining paid work.

  • To help participants acquire/update their job search skills
  • To help participants gain soft skills
  • To provide resources and support to help learners apply for vacancies
