Employment Option

This option offers participants a choice of two routes through either subsidised employment or self-employment.  Under subsidised employment participants are in a job with training. Under self-employment, these are provided with a basic awareness of self-employment plus an opportunity to test trade your ideas.

Overview

The subsidised employment route provides participants with a waged job that is subject to normal employment rules and regulations. Participants receive an Individual Training Plan, which monitors progress and identifies areas for future development. This route offers training over and above what an employer would normally deliver on the job.  Participants receive a wage from the employer and may be eligible for in-work benefits, housing benefit or Council Tax benefit run-ons.
