AutoCAD

Course Overview
Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the use of computers to assist in the creation of technical drawings such as house plans and mechanical components. The main benefit of using CAD is that once a drawing has been created it is easy to modify if changes to a design or plan are made. Multiple copies of a drawing can also be made easily for distribution to engineers or architects. The premier CAD software worldwide is AutoCAD.
Typical Roles
Typical roles can be Draughtsman or Technical Illustrator.
Certification
Certification for AutoCAD is administered via the City & Guilds examination body. To pass exam 4351-01 learners must successfully undertake a series of drawing exercises and pass a multiple choice test.

Once the learner has passed these they can be considered proficient in the use of AutoCAD at '2D' level.
