The Employability Skills Programme (ESP) is designed to
increase your chances of finding regular and long term employment.
Along with supported job searching activities and work placements,
you can improve your interview techniques, CV writing skills
and your employability skills. We can also help you to
brush up on a variety of other skills you may need in your everyday
life and gain qualifications.
Who can take
part?
This programme is open to people over the age of 18 and who are
receiving a benefit such as Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Incapacity
Benefit or Income Support.
What help will I receive?
This programme will help you:
- Build up the skills and confidence
employers need you to have. e.g. IT
- Search for jobs that suit your
vocational interests
- Gain valuable work experience by
taking part in work placements with local employers.
- Gain qualifications up to level
2
- Show you how to progress from this
programme into a higher programme such as Train To Gain if you
become employed.
- Provide you with information,
guidance and personal 1-2-1 support
- At the beginning of the programme,
we will work with you to establish both the skills you feel need to
be improved and how you like to be taught (your learning style).
With your input, we will then develop an Action Plan as a guide to
what is needed and a way to help you record your achievements on
the programme.
How long does the programme
last?
Employability Skills Programme lasts for an average of 13
weeks and people spend between 12 and 20 hours a week. We find
that people involved on this programme increase their job prospects
and their confidence.
