New Start is a unique programme funded
through the European Social Fund (ESF) which provides paid work
placements for people who have been unemployed for over a year
because of a health condition or disability.
The work is only temporary lasting up to 26
weeks, but it gives people the confidence, skills and work
experience they need to succeed when looking for their own
subsequent employment.
What

Who
can join?
New Start is only available to people who have
been unemployed for over 12 months, have a health condition or
disability and live in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. If
you live outside this area please contact your local Jobcentre Plus
office for details of your nearest New
Start provider.
