Unblocking The Way Ahead

New Deal for Young People (18-24) and 25+

The New Deal programmes are specifically for people who are unemployed and have been actively seeking work without success.

Initially the programme addresses the issues as to why a person can’t find work and provides job search, short course training, advice and guidance.  If they continue to be unsuccessful in finding work, they will get the opportunity to boost their skills through high quality education, training and work experience.

What help will I receive?

  • Job search assistance including writing a CV, completing application forms and interview techniques
  • Advice on personal and job seeking skills
  • The opportunity to gain qualifications such as NVQ’s
  • Work related training with professional certification
  • Subsidised employment with work related training
  • Help and assistance to become self-employed
  • Work experience through a voluntary project
  • Advice on financial benefits such as working tax credits
  • Confidence, motivation and self esteem building sessions
