New Deal for Lone Parents is a voluntary programme which
helps single parents prepare and return to work. It addresses all
the concerns a single parent may have about getting a job and
addresses issues such as childcare and financial
worries.
As well as offering practical advice and support,
parents can access training leading to qualifications, gain
valuable work experience and receive advice on self
employment.
What help will I
receive?
- Overcome your concerns with
professional advice about getting a job
- The opportunity to gain
qualifications such as NVQ’s
- Work related training courses with
professional certification
- Assistance with writing a great
CV, completing application forms and covering letters
- Confidence, motivation and
self-esteem building sessions
- The use of a computer and the
internet
- Access to newspapers, telephones,
stationery, stamps
- Financial help with childcare and
travel costs
Who can join?
The programme is available to all single
parents regardless of age who live in the West of England.
