A Recipe for Success

Finding A Job

For some people, beginning to search for a job can be a difficult task. You need to sell yourself and your skills to a potential employer.   The thought of having to attend an interview can be quite daunting for someone who hasn’t worked for some time.

Firstly, you will need an up to date CV which will promote ‘you’ and ‘what you can offer’ to an employer. Our Advisers will be able to help you put together a CV that a potential employer will want to read. We can also help you with completing application forms, writing covering letters and preparing for interviews.

Our centres provide all the tools you need for searching for a job including access to newspapers, the internet, a photocopier, computers, stamps, stationery and of course there will be the latest news on local vacancies.

We also hold regular job search sessions, which give you the opportunity to learn how to brush up your interview technique, help you deal with job rejection, and provide job hunting tips. They also give you a chance to speak to other customers allowing you to share experiences and job information, and even perhaps make a friend or two.
