As an organisation Seetec has a strong commitment to
Corporate Social Responsibility. We have a strict code of business
ethics that permeates the organisation at every level and governs
the way we conduct business and interact with partners and
customers.
We have a strong commitment to sustainable development to
achieve social, economic and environmental goals, and a key part of
our approach to sustainable development is our environmental
policy:
We continually seek to ensure that our activities are carried
out with minimal impact on the environment and to enhance the
environment wherever possible.
Seetec encourages all stakeholders including community,
suppliers, customers, and employees to be accountable for the
impact of their actions upon the environment and to strive for
continuous improvement.
Seetec encourages all stakeholders including participants to
apply the 3 R’s: Reduce the amount of resources
that are used, Reuse anything that can be and
Recycle materials using the facilities provided.
Examples include:
- Much of the company’s internal communication is conducted
on-line to reduce the use of paper. Documents are shared via an
on-line document storage facility or USB keys and all waste paper
is shredded for recycling.
- We collect plastic drinking cups, toner cartridges, mobile
phones, cans and cardboard for recycling.
- We promote energy management to employees and learners by
installing automatic taps and lights where possible, not leaving
computers on standby overnight and putting up signs to ensure
valuable energy resources are saved.
- We encourage the use of public transport for employee travel
and encourage car-share schemes, acknowledging the finite natural
resources of the petroleum industry.
- Those working on PCs and receiving IT training are told about
the problems of disposing of PCs and how Seetec recycles them to
community groups, local schools and even to some of the
participants.
The quality and innovation within these initiatives has been
acknowledged when Seetec was awarded the Southend District Business
Award for Environmental Awareness sponsored by Southend-on-Sea
Borough Council.
Seetec is currently implementing an Environmental Management
System (ISO 14001)
