What is Response to
Redundancy?
Response to Redundancy is a Learning and Skills Council and
European Social Fund funded programme designed to support both
employers and employees who may be involved in the process of
redundancy or are likely to be in the near future.
If you employ staff in the East of England or West Midlands then
you can work with Seetec to minimise the effects of redundancy at
no cost to your organisation.
How does it benefit my
organisation?
Few employers will want to lose staff, many of whom may have
provided loyal service over a number of years. In some cases it
will be completely unavoidable but Response to Redundancy offers
employers the chance to support staff in increasing the skills they
have and may need to remain employed within your organisation or to
gain alternative employment as quickly as possible.
The support included in the
programme offer includes:
- Skills Training Analysis (STA) to
identify employees skills training needs
- Skills training for present employees
to update or provide new skills more relevant to your
organisation
- In some circumstances reduce the need
for redundancies for some or all of your staff
- Give staff who are - or may be - made
redundant the best possible chance of building the skills they need
to find new jobs and successfully apply for them
- Help your staff brush up on skills
like CV preparation and interview techniques that they will need to
secure a new job
- Signposting to the Train to Gain
service in order to raise skills levels through free NVQ
delivery
If you are considering creating redundancies within your
organisation or if you have already started the process, Response
to Redundancy can help you give your staff the best possible
opportunities to find new work more quickly and in some cases, may
provide them with a new set of skills which you need in your
business.
