Q: How do I find out more
about your employment services?
A: You can either complete
the enquiry form on the contact us page, phone us on 01702
201070, or contact your local Seetec centre direct.
Contact details of your nearest centre can be found on the 'where
to find us' page.
Q: Do you
offer your free recruitment services across the UK?
A: Seetec’s employment and
training centres are located across the UK from the South West of
England to the North West. We offer our services to
employers who are located within the Districts of our employment
and training centres.
Q: How
are your employment services different to a high street recruitment
agency?
A: Essentially, we provide
the same professional service that a commercial high street agency
offers, but we differ in the fact that we offer a unique database
of talented people who are currently out of work and our services
are free of charge because we are funded by the
Government.
Q: Will I
have to make changes to my workplace if I employ someone with a
disability?
A: Reasonable adjustments are
expected to be made by employers for staff and that doesn’t mean
costly alterations. Adjustments will be dependent on a
person’s disability or health condition, and could be very minor -
we will advise you on any adjustments you would need to
make. Customers and employers are able to access funding for
workplace adaptations through Jobcentre Plus' Access to Work
programme.
Q: Who can gain
an NVQ qualification?
A: NVQ’s are open to anyone
in your employment over 16 years of age, (subject to
eligibility). They must have passed their probation period
with you and have a good working knowledge of their job.
Q: What’s the
difference between NVQ level 1 and level 2?
A: NVQ level 1 is the
equivalent to one GCSE any grade, and level 2 is equivalent to five
GCSE’s grade A-C.
Q: How are NVQ’s
delivered?
A: NVQ’s are work based which
means your employees do not attend college. Meeting the NVQ
criteria, they will demonstrate their ability to perform a task and
will provide ‘evidence’ to a Seetec assessor of their capabilities,
either through one to one visits or via our online e-NVQ
system.
Q: How long will
it take to train my staff?
A: This is dependent on the
abilities of the learner but typically it will take 6 months to
gain an NVQ and up to 12 months to complete an Apprenticeship.
Q: How
much will it cost me to train my staff?
A: Nothing – our training is
completely free because it is funded by the Government through the
Learning and Skills Council.
Q: How do
I find out more about your workforce training?
A: You can either complete the enquiry form
on the contact us page or phone us on 01702 201070
and we will send you an information pack.
